BIOGRAPHY

Pianist Miquel Gusi, born in Barcelona in 2001, began his musical studies with Albert Andreu and Carmen Amat, continuing at the Liceu Professional Conservatory of Music with Olga Kobékina.

He studied under renowned professors Stanislav Pochekin and Enrique Bagaría at the Liceu Superior Conservatory of Barcelona, earning a “Young Talents” scholarship from the Ferrer-Salat Foundation. He later continued his training with pianists Marc Heredia and Luis Fernando Pérez.

He has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Eldar Nebolsin, Márta Gulyás, András Kémenes, Grigory Gruzman, Jacques Rouvier, Piotr Paleczny, Eliane Reyes, Michael Davidov, Ilya Maximov, Mykola Suk, Yuri Logatchov, Judith Jáuregui, Adam Kent, among others.

Since his public debut at the age of 14, he has performed recitals in prominent venues across Spain as well as in other European countries such as France, Portugal, Germany, Andorra, and Hungary. In the 2022 season, he made his solo debut with the Sant Cugat Symphony Orchestra, performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1. He has also been invited to play at festivals in Lisbon, Tenerife, and Cáceres, presenting solo piano and chamber music concerts.

He has been awarded prizes in national and international piano and chamber music competitions, including 2nd prize at the 49th Catalonia Young Pianists Competition, 1st prize at the II International Competition “Russian Alborada,” 1st prize at the XVI Higini Anglès Chamber Music Competition, and 3rd prize at the 26th Josep Mirabent i Magrans Chamber Music Competition (Trio AlmArts).

In addition, he has expanded his musical training with studies in violin, choral and orchestral conducting, as well as in other styles such as modern and jazz.
